USER AGREEMENT
CONSUMER PRODUCT RECOVERY AND FINANCE COMPANY, INC.
d.b.a. LOSTANDFOUND.COM
Effective Date: July 21, 2026
SECTION 1 — ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS
You must read, understand, and accept all terms and conditions contained in this User Agreement before accessing or using any Services provided by Consumer Product Recovery and Finance Company, Inc., doing business as LostAndFound.com ("LostAndFound.com," "we," "our," or "us").
This User Agreement governs your access to and use of all LostAndFound.com products, services, technology, platforms, and related offerings, including without limitation:
- websites;
- mobile applications;
- Venue Pages;
- Venue Administration Pages;
- employee interfaces;
- APIs;
- integrations;
- communication tools;
- identity verification services;
- subscription services;
- ID Returns services;
- QR Code identification services;
- artificial intelligence-assisted features;
- automated technology features;
- future products and services developed by LostAndFound.com.
All such products and services are collectively referred to as the "Services."
By:
- creating an Account;
- accessing the Services;
- submitting information;
- purchasing a subscription;
- using a Venue account;
- using an employee or administrative account;
- accessing any portion of the Services;
you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this User Agreement and the LostAndFound.com Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree with this User Agreement, you may not access or use the Services.
LostAndFound.com reserves the right to modify this User Agreement at any time. If material changes are made, LostAndFound.com may provide notice through reasonable methods, including posting an updated agreement, updating the Effective Date, providing account notifications, or other reasonable communication methods.
Your continued use of the Services after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised User Agreement.
SECTION 2 — DESCRIPTION OF SERVICE
LostAndFound.com provides an online technology platform designed to assist individuals, businesses, organizations, educational institutions, government agencies, venues, and other entities with reporting, searching, managing, communicating about, claiming, and coordinating the potential return of lost and found property.
The Services may include:
- lost property listings;
- found property listings;
- search functionality;
- automated matching tools;
- artificial intelligence-assisted features;
- communication tools;
- Venue Pages;
- Venue Administration Pages;
- employee management tools;
- Customer Service Representative ("CSR") access;
- claim workflows;
- Return-To-Owner ("RTO") workflows;
- identity verification services;
- reputation indicators;
- rewards features;
- QR Code identification services;
- subscription services;
- APIs;
- integrations;
- data feeds;
- shipping assistance tools;
- mapping services;
- other related technology.
LostAndFound.com is a technology platform and communication service.
LostAndFound.com is not:
- a lost and found department;
- a warehouse;
- a storage facility;
- a property custodian;
- a shipping company;
- a delivery service;
- an insurance company;
- a bonding company;
- a surety;
- a law enforcement agency;
- an animal shelter;
- a guarantor of property recovery.
LostAndFound.com does not take possession, ownership, custody, control, or responsibility for property listed, reported, processed, communicated about, or managed through the Services.
LostAndFound.com does not guarantee that any property will:
- be located;
- be matched;
- be identified;
- be verified;
- remain available;
- be returned;
- be delivered;
- be recovered in the same condition as when lost or found.
SECTION 3 — DEFINITIONS
For purposes of this User Agreement, the following definitions apply.
Account
"Account" means a registered account created to access or use the Services.
Claim
"Claim" means a request submitted through the Services by an individual or entity seeking return of property.
A Claim does not establish ownership.
Content
"Content" means any information, data, text, descriptions, photographs, videos, documents, messages, Listings, communications, or other materials submitted, uploaded, transmitted, or made available through the Services.
Employee
"Employee" means an individual authorized by a Venue Administrator or authorized Venue representative to access limited portions of the Services for operational purposes.
Employees may perform functions including:
- entering found property;
- uploading photographs;
- updating item status;
- viewing assigned property;
- transferring internal custody records.
Employees are not automatically administrators.
Customer Service Representative ("CSR")
"CSR" means an individual authorized by a Venue Administrator to access portions of the Venue Administration environment for customer service or operational assistance.
A CSR does not automatically have Venue Administrator authority.
Finder
"Finder" means a person or entity reporting possession of property believed to be lost.
Listing
"Listing" means information submitted through the Services regarding lost property, found property, pets, or related information.
Owner
"Owner" means a person claiming ownership or lawful possession of property.
Return-To-Owner ("RTO")
"RTO" means the process through which users, finders, owners, claimants, and Venues may communicate and coordinate a possible return of property.
Services
"Services" means all LostAndFound.com websites, applications, software, APIs, integrations, communication tools, subscriptions, technology features, and related offerings.
User
"User" means any individual or entity accessing or using the Services.
Venue
"Venue" means any business, organization, educational institution, government agency, transportation provider, property manager, event organizer, animal shelter, or other entity using the Services.
Venue Administrator
"Venue Administrator" means the individual authorized by a Venue to manage the Venue account, control access permissions, administer users, and manage use of the Services.
SECTION 4 — ACCOUNT REGISTRATION AND USER RESPONSIBILITIES
Certain portions of the Services require registration.
When creating an Account, you agree to provide information that is:
- accurate;
- current;
- complete;
- truthful.
You agree to maintain and update Account information as necessary.
LostAndFound.com may suspend, restrict, or terminate Accounts containing information that is:
- false;
- misleading;
- incomplete;
- outdated;
- fraudulent;
- inconsistent with this Agreement.
Account Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your Account credentials.
You agree to:
- protect your password;
- prevent unauthorized access;
- maintain accurate Account information;
- immediately notify LostAndFound.com of suspected unauthorized activity.
You are responsible for activity conducted through your Account unless caused solely by LostAndFound.com's negligence.
User Eligibility
The Services are intended for individuals and entities capable of entering legally binding agreements.
Minors may use the Services only with involvement and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.
LostAndFound.com may refuse, restrict, suspend, or terminate access for users who violate this Agreement.
SECTION 5 — VENUE ACCOUNTS, VENUE ADMINISTRATORS, CSRs, AND EMPLOYEES
LostAndFound.com provides specialized tools allowing Venues to manage lost and found operations through:
- Venue Pages;
- Venue Administration Pages;
- employee tools;
- reporting tools;
- communication systems;
- related Services.
A Venue may designate authorized individuals to manage access.
5.1 Venue Administrator Authority
The Venue Administrator is responsible for:
- establishing the Venue account;
- maintaining accurate Venue information;
- managing users;
- assigning permissions;
- authorizing Employees and CSRs;
- removing access when authorization ends;
- protecting credentials;
- ensuring authorized use of the Services.
LostAndFound.com may rely upon instructions provided through the Venue account.
LostAndFound.com is not responsible for disputes between Venue representatives.
5.2 CSR Access
A CSR may access portions of the Venue Administration environment according to permissions granted by the Venue Administrator.
A CSR may:
- review Listings;
- assist with Claims;
- communicate with users;
- assist with returns;
- manage operational tasks.
A CSR does not automatically have authority to:
- transfer Venue ownership;
- change Venue Administrators;
- modify billing;
- delete accounts;
- change security settings;
unless specifically authorized.
5.3 Employee Access
Employees may receive limited access to perform operational tasks.
Employee permissions may include:
- creating found item records;
- uploading photographs;
- updating item status;
- viewing assigned property;
- transferring internal custody records.
Employees do not receive administrative authority unless specifically granted.
5.4 Venue Responsibility for Authorized Users
Venues are solely responsible for:
- selecting authorized users;
- assigning permissions;
- monitoring activity;
- removing access;
- ensuring compliance with laws and policies.
LostAndFound.com is not responsible for actions taken by Venue Administrators, CSRs, Employees, contractors, or representatives acting within permissions granted by the Venue.
SECTION 6 — VENUE INVENTORY, PROPERTY CUSTODY, AND OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITY
LostAndFound.com provides technology tools designed to assist Venues with lost and found operations.
LostAndFound.com does not:
- receive property;
- inspect property;
- store property;
- safeguard property;
- authenticate property;
- control property;
- manage Venue inventory.
All physical property remains solely under the custody and responsibility of the applicable:
- Venue;
- finder;
- owner;
- claimant;
- shipping provider;
- other responsible party.
Venues are solely responsible for:
- receiving found property;
- storing property;
- securing property;
- labeling property;
- entering inventory;
- maintaining records;
- determining status;
- releasing property;
- disposing of property;
- complying with applicable laws.
SECTION 7 — INVENTORY ACCURACY DISCLAIMER
LostAndFound.com relies upon information submitted by:
- Venues;
- Employees;
- CSRs;
- Users;
- other third parties.
LostAndFound.com does not independently verify:
- item descriptions;
- photographs;
- categories;
- locations;
- dates;
- ownership information;
- inventory status.
LostAndFound.com is not responsible for:
- inaccurate Listings;
- missing records;
- duplicate records;
- incorrect descriptions;
- improper categorization;
- incorrect locations;
- Venue errors;
- employee errors;
- failure to update records.
Venue errors may affect searches, matching, Claims, and returns.
LostAndFound.com shall not be responsible for losses resulting from inaccurate information entered by others.
SECTION 8 — NO BAILMENT OR CUSTODIAL RELATIONSHIP
Use of the Services does not create any:
- bailment;
- custodial relationship;
- agency relationship;
- partnership;
- fiduciary relationship;
between LostAndFound.com and any User, Venue, finder, owner, claimant, or property.
LostAndFound.com does not accept responsibility for:
- care;
- preservation;
- security;
- condition;
- transportation;
- release;
- disposal;
of any property.
SECTION 9 — VENUE RELEASE RESPONSIBILITY
Each Venue acknowledges that it is solely responsible for decisions regarding:
- whether property exists;
- whether property is authentic;
- whether a claimant is entitled to receive property;
- whether property should be released;
- how property is stored;
- how property is disposed.
LostAndFound.com does not determine ownership or entitlement.
The applicable Venue, finder, owner, claimant, or responsible party remains solely responsible for property release decisions.
SECTION 10 — LISTINGS, CONTENT, AND USER RESPONSIBILITIES
Users may submit Content including:
- lost property reports;
- found property reports;
- pet reports;
- photographs;
- descriptions;
- serial numbers;
- communications;
- Claim information;
- reward information;
- supporting documentation.
You are solely responsible for Content submitted through the Services.
LostAndFound.com does not guarantee:
- accuracy;
- completeness;
- legality;
- authenticity;
- ownership;
- reliability;
of Content submitted by Users, Venues, Employees, CSRs, or other third parties.
By submitting Content, you represent that:
- you have the right to submit it;
- it is accurate to the best of your knowledge;
- it does not violate another person's rights;
- it does not contain unnecessary sensitive information.
SECTION 11 — USER CONTENT, LISTINGS, PHOTOS, AND INFORMATION SUBMITTED THROUGH THE SERVICES
The Services allow Users, Venues, Venue Administrators, CSRs, Employees, and other authorized participants to submit information, including but not limited to:
- lost property reports;
- found property reports;
- pet reports;
- item descriptions;
- photographs;
- videos;
- serial numbers;
- identifying information;
- location information;
- Claim information;
- communications;
- reward information;
- comments;
- notes;
- other Content submitted through the Services.
All information, data, text, photographs, graphics, messages, files, documents, or other materials submitted through the Services ("Content") are the sole responsibility of the individual or entity submitting such Content.
LostAndFound.com does not create, independently verify, inspect, authenticate, or guarantee User Content.
The person or entity submitting Content remains solely responsible for ensuring:
- they have the legal right to submit the Content;
- the Content is accurate to the best of their knowledge;
- the Content does not violate applicable law;
- the Content does not violate another person's rights;
- the Content does not contain unnecessary sensitive personal information.
11.1 Accuracy of Listings
LostAndFound.com provides technology tools designed to assist Users in identifying potentially matching lost and found property.
However, LostAndFound.com does not guarantee:
- that a Listing is accurate;
- that a Listing describes the correct property;
- that a photograph accurately represents property;
- that a found item remains available;
- that a lost item actually exists;
- that a person claiming ownership is the lawful owner;
- that a suggested match is correct;
- that all possible matches will be identified.
Errors may occur due to:
- inaccurate information submitted by Users;
- inaccurate information submitted by Venues;
- incorrect categories;
- incorrect locations;
- missing information;
- spelling errors;
- incomplete descriptions;
- outdated information;
- technical limitations.
Users are responsible for independently evaluating information and making their own decisions regarding any property return.
SECTION 12 — LICENSE TO USE SUBMITTED CONTENT
LostAndFound.com does not claim ownership of Content submitted by Users.
However, by submitting Content through the Services, you grant LostAndFound.com a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, process, store, display, transmit, modify, and distribute such Content solely as reasonably necessary to:
- provide the Services;
- operate the Platform;
- display Listings;
- facilitate searches;
- facilitate communication;
- facilitate potential returns;
- maintain security;
- prevent fraud;
- improve Services;
- create backups;
- comply with legal obligations.
This license continues for as long as reasonably necessary for LostAndFound.com to provide, maintain, secure, and improve the Services.
You represent and warrant that you have all rights necessary to grant this license.
LostAndFound.com does not obtain ownership rights in User Content.
SECTION 13 — USER CONDUCT
You agree that you will not use the Services to:
- provide false information;
- submit fraudulent Listings;
- falsely claim ownership of property;
- impersonate another person, organization, or Venue;
- misrepresent your relationship with a Venue;
- misuse identity verification services;
- manipulate Reputation indicators;
- harass, threaten, or abuse another User;
- submit unlawful, harmful, defamatory, or misleading Content;
- violate privacy rights;
- violate intellectual property rights;
- upload malware or harmful code;
- interfere with operation of the Services;
- bypass security measures;
- attempt unauthorized access;
- collect User information for improper purposes;
- engage in fraudulent activity;
- use the Services for unlawful purposes.
LostAndFound.com reserves the right, but not the obligation, to:
- investigate suspected violations;
- remove Content;
- restrict access;
- suspend Accounts;
- terminate Accounts.
LostAndFound.com does not have an obligation to monitor all Content submitted through the Services.
SECTION 14 — PUBLIC LISTINGS AND PUBLICLY AVAILABLE INFORMATION
Certain information submitted through the Services may be publicly displayed to assist Users in locating potentially matching lost property.
Public information may include:
- item descriptions;
- photographs;
- general location information;
- Venue information;
- dates;
- categories;
- non-sensitive identifying characteristics.
Users should carefully consider information submitted through public areas of the Services.
Users should not submit unnecessary:
- government identification information;
- financial information;
- passwords;
- confidential information;
- sensitive personal information.
LostAndFound.com reserves the right to:
- modify publicly displayed information;
- limit visibility;
- remove information;
- restrict access;
- protect User privacy and Platform security.
SECTION 15 — CLAIMS, RETURN-TO-OWNER ("RTO") PROCESS, AND PROPERTY RETURNS
LostAndFound.com provides tools designed to facilitate communication between:
- individuals claiming ownership;
- finders;
- Venues;
- other parties involved in lost and found property.
The Services may include:
- Claim submissions;
- communication tools;
- identity verification;
- Reputation indicators;
- return confirmations;
- pickup coordination;
- shipping coordination;
- reward-related workflows.
Submitting a Claim does not establish ownership.
A Claim is only a request for consideration.
A Claim does not guarantee:
- that the claimant owns the property;
- that property exists;
- that property remains available;
- that the claimant will receive property;
- that the property will be returned;
- that a Venue or finder will release property.
15.1 Ownership Determination
LostAndFound.com does not determine:
- legal ownership;
- lawful possession;
- entitlement to property;
- authenticity of ownership claims;
- competing claims.
The applicable:
- Venue;
- finder;
- owner;
- claimant;
- other responsible party;
remains solely responsible for determining whether property should be released.
LostAndFound.com is not responsible for:
- mistaken returns;
- unauthorized releases;
- fraudulent claims;
- ownership disputes.
15.2 Return-To-Owner Process
The RTO process may include:
- communication between parties;
- submission of Claim information;
- identity verification;
- Reputation review;
- pickup arrangements;
- shipping arrangements;
- confirmation of return.
The availability of RTO tools does not guarantee successful recovery.
SECTION 16 — IDENTITY VERIFICATION AND FRAUD PREVENTION
Certain Services may require identity verification before completing certain actions, including:
- submitting or completing Claims;
- accessing enhanced features;
- participating in verification-based programs;
- completing certain return workflows.
LostAndFound.com may use independent third-party identity verification providers, including Plaid Inc. and other providers selected by LostAndFound.com.
Identity verification is intended to assist with:
- trust;
- security;
- fraud prevention.
Identity verification does not mean that LostAndFound.com guarantees:
- ownership of property;
- honesty;
- lawful conduct;
- intentions;
- accuracy of submitted information;
- safety of interactions.
A verified User may still:
- provide false information;
- engage in fraud;
- make improper claims;
- misuse the Services.
LostAndFound.com does not independently investigate every verified User.
SECTION 17 — THIRD-PARTY IDENTITY VERIFICATION SERVICES
LostAndFound.com may use third-party identity verification providers to assist with:
- identity verification;
- fraud prevention;
- account security;
- trust and safety features.
These providers may include Plaid Inc. ("Plaid") and other providers.
When identity verification is requested, information may be collected and processed by the applicable provider.
Depending on the service used, the provider may collect:
- name;
- address;
- date of birth;
- telephone number;
- email address;
- government-issued identification information;
- photographs of identification documents;
- photographs or video images;
- device information;
- technical information;
- fraud prevention information;
- liveness detection information.
LostAndFound.com generally receives only information necessary to administer the Services, such as:
- verification status;
- verification results;
- risk indicators;
- confirmation of completion.
LostAndFound.com generally does not receive or store:
- government ID images;
- passport images;
- driver's license images;
- selfie images;
- facial geometry;
- biometric templates;
- biometric identifiers generated by verification providers.
Third-party verification providers maintain their own:
- privacy policies;
- security practices;
- retention policies;
- terms of service.
LostAndFound.com does not control:
- how providers collect information;
- how providers store information;
- how long providers retain information;
- provider security practices;
- provider verification results.
By using identity verification Services, you acknowledge that information may be processed according to applicable third-party agreements.
SECTION 18 — REPUTATION SYSTEM AND TRUST INDICATORS
LostAndFound.com may provide Reputation indicators, verification badges, feedback information, trust indicators, or similar features.
These features are provided solely for informational purposes.
The Reputation System is not intended to:
- determine ownership;
- establish legal rights;
- guarantee identity;
- guarantee honesty;
- guarantee trustworthiness;
- certify a User;
- endorse a transaction.
Reputation indicators may include:
Red
No contact information or identity verification completed.
Yellow
Email address and/or mobile telephone number verified.
This indicates only that the User demonstrated access to a communication method.
Green
Identity verification completed through an approved third-party verification provider.
Gold
Green status plus positive feedback or additional qualifying activity.
LostAndFound.com may modify, expand, rename, remove, replace, suspend, or discontinue Reputation features at any time.
A Reputation indicator does not guarantee:
- ownership;
- honesty;
- lawful conduct;
- accuracy of information;
- successful return;
- safety;
- future behavior.
Users remain responsible for exercising independent judgment.
LostAndFound.com is not responsible for:
- reliance placed on Reputation indicators;
- verification errors;
- User misconduct;
- fraudulent claims;
- disputes between Users;
- third-party provider failures.
SECTION 19 — REWARDS PROGRAM
LostAndFound.com may provide features allowing Users to offer rewards for the return of lost property.
Any reward offered through the Services is the sole responsibility of the person or entity offering the reward ("Reward Grantor").
LostAndFound.com does not:
- guarantee payment of rewards;
- guarantee that reward conditions will be satisfied;
- act as a guarantor;
- act as an insurer;
- fund rewards.
The Reward Grantor is solely responsible for:
- determining reward terms;
- ensuring funds are available;
- honoring promised rewards;
- complying with applicable laws.
LostAndFound.com may provide administrative tools to facilitate reward-related workflows, but those tools do not create any payment obligation.
Additional verification requirements may apply to certain reward amounts.
SECTION 20 — ID RETURNS QR CODE SERVICE
LostAndFound.com provides an ID Returns service designed to help reunite personal property with owners through unique identification methods, including QR Codes.
The ID Returns Service may allow a finder to:
- scan a QR Code;
- access a LostAndFound.com return page;
- contact a registered owner;
- initiate a return workflow.
The ID Returns Service does not guarantee:
- that an item will be found;
- that a finder will scan the QR Code;
- that a finder will contact the owner;
- that an item will be returned;
- that an item will be returned in the same condition.
Users are responsible for maintaining accurate Account information associated with their ID Returns Service.
SECTION 21 — ID RETURNS FEES AND SUBSCRIPTION SERVICES
LostAndFound.com may offer subscription-based services, including but not limited to:
- Standard ID Returns Service;
- VIP ID Returns Service;
- Family ID Returns Program;
- extended-duration subscription programs;
- additional identification or recovery-related services.
Fees, subscription periods, renewal terms, and applicable features will be disclosed before purchase.
Unless otherwise stated:
- all fees are quoted in U.S. dollars;
- payments are non-refundable;
- subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled according to available account settings;
- users are responsible for maintaining accurate billing information.
LostAndFound.com reserves the right to modify:
- pricing;
- subscription plans;
- features;
- availability;
- eligibility requirements.
Changes to pricing will not affect already purchased subscription periods unless otherwise disclosed.
SECTION 22 — PAYMENTS, FEES, AND BILLING
Certain Services require payment, including but not limited to:
- subscriptions;
- ID Returns Services;
- Venue subscriptions;
- premium features;
- API access;
- verification-related services;
- other paid Services.
Before completing a purchase, Users will have the opportunity to review applicable fees and payment terms.
You agree to:
- pay all applicable fees;
- provide accurate billing information;
- maintain valid payment information;
- pay applicable taxes;
- authorize charges associated with your Account.
LostAndFound.com may use third-party payment processors.
LostAndFound.com generally does not receive or store complete payment card information.
Payment processors maintain their own:
- privacy policies;
- security practices;
- terms of service.
LostAndFound.com is not responsible for the independent acts or omissions of payment processors.
SECTION 23 — NO REFUND POLICY
Except where required by applicable law or expressly stated otherwise:
- all purchases are final;
- subscription payments are non-refundable;
- unused subscription periods are not refundable;
- partial subscription periods are not prorated.
If you believe there has been:
- an unauthorized charge;
- a billing error;
- an incorrect payment;
you must contact LostAndFound.com promptly.
LostAndFound.com reserves the right to investigate billing disputes.
SECTION 24 — API, INTEGRATIONS, AND BUSINESS CUSTOMERS
LostAndFound.com may provide:
- APIs;
- software integrations;
- embedded features;
- data feeds;
- partner connections;
- reseller services;
- enterprise technology solutions.
Business customers, API customers, integration partners, and resellers are responsible for:
- protecting API credentials;
- maintaining appropriate security;
- obtaining required permissions;
- complying with applicable privacy laws;
- properly handling information received through the Services;
- ensuring authorized use by their employees and customers.
LostAndFound.com does not guarantee:
- uninterrupted API availability;
- compatibility with third-party systems;
- continued availability of integrations;
- accuracy of third-party data;
- performance of external systems.
LostAndFound.com may modify, suspend, restrict, or discontinue APIs or integrations when necessary for:
- security;
- technical reasons;
- legal compliance;
- business operations.
SECTION 25 — COMMUNICATIONS BETWEEN USERS, VENUES, AND OTHER PARTICIPANTS
LostAndFound.com provides communication tools designed to allow:
- owners;
- finders;
- claimants;
- Venues;
- Employees;
- CSRs;
- other Users;
to communicate regarding lost and found property.
Communications may include:
- messages;
- Claim communications;
- return coordination;
- pickup arrangements;
- shipping discussions;
- reward discussions;
- support communications.
Users acknowledge that communications occur between the participants involved.
LostAndFound.com is not a party to communications between Users.
LostAndFound.com does not guarantee:
- Users will respond;
- information exchanged will be accurate;
- communications will result in a return;
- Users will honor commitments;
- Users will act honestly.
LostAndFound.com may retain communications for purposes including:
- providing Services;
- customer support;
- fraud prevention;
- security;
- dispute resolution;
- legal compliance.
Users should avoid sharing unnecessary sensitive information.
SECTION 26 — ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE, AUTOMATED TECHNOLOGY, AND FUTURE PLATFORM FEATURES
LostAndFound.com may use artificial intelligence, machine learning, automated processing, computer vision, natural language processing, algorithms, and other automated technologies ("Automated Technologies") to assist with the Services.
Automated Technologies may be used for purposes including:
- item categorization;
- photograph analysis;
- description assistance;
- search improvement;
- matching suggestions;
- recommendations;
- fraud prevention;
- customer assistance;
- operational improvements;

- automated results do not determine entitlement to property;
- automated results do not replace human judgment.
LostAndFound.com does not guarantee:
- accuracy of automated classifications;
- accuracy of image analysis;
- accuracy of matching suggestions;
- completeness of recommendations;
- prevention of fraud;
- successful recovery of property.
LostAndFound.com reserves the right to modify, improve, replace, or discontinue Automated Technologies at any time.
SECTION 27 — MATCHING SERVICES AND SEARCH TECHNOLOGY
LostAndFound.com may provide search tools, matching features, recommendations, alerts, and other technology designed to assist Users in identifying potentially related lost and found property.
These tools may use information including:
- descriptions;
- categories;
- photographs;
- dates;
- locations;
- User-provided information;
- Venue-provided information;
- other available data.
Users acknowledge that matching technology is not perfect.
LostAndFound.com does not guarantee:
- that a match will be identified;
- that a suggested match is correct;
- that all possible matches will appear;
- that Listings contain accurate information.
Users must independently evaluate whether property is a legitimate match.
SECTION 28 — LOCAL RESOURCES, GOVERNMENT AGENCIES, AND THIRD-PARTY REFERRALS
LostAndFound.com may provide information regarding:
- police departments;
- animal shelters;
- animal control agencies;
- rescue organizations;
- transportation providers;
- businesses;
- other organizations.
Information may come from:
- public sources;
- organizations themselves;
- third-party databases;
- User submissions.
LostAndFound.com does not guarantee that third-party information is:
- accurate;
- complete;
- current;
- available;
- endorsed.
LostAndFound.com is not responsible for:
- third-party actions;
- third-party policies;
- third-party services;
- third-party decisions.
Users should contact appropriate organizations directly when necessary.
SECTION 29 — SHIPPING, MAILING, PICKUP, AND DELIVERY
LostAndFound.com may provide tools assisting Users and Venues with:
- pickup;
- shipping;
- mailing;
- delivery;
- return confirmation.
LostAndFound.com is not:
- a shipping company;
- a carrier;
- a courier;
- a delivery provider.
LostAndFound.com does not guarantee:
- delivery times;
- successful delivery;
- property condition after shipment;
- carrier performance;
- prevention of loss during shipping.
Users and Venues are responsible for:
- selecting shipping methods;
- paying shipping costs;
- complying with applicable laws;
- properly packaging property.
Shipping transactions are between the applicable parties and shipping providers.
SECTION 30 — VENUE NETWORKS AND SHARED INFORMATION
LostAndFound.com may provide Venue Network features allowing connected Venues to share or coordinate lost and found information.
Examples include:
- parent and subsidiary locations;
- affiliated locations;
- event networks;
- transportation networks;
- organizational groups.
Information shared through Venue Networks may be available to authorized participants according to configured permissions.
Each Venue remains responsible for:
- determining appropriate access;
- authorizing Users;
- protecting information;
- complying with applicable laws.
LostAndFound.com does not guarantee that Venue Network participants will properly handle:
- information;
- property;
- claims;
- returns.
SECTION 31 — DATA STORAGE, RETENTION, AND AVAILABILITY
LostAndFound.com may retain information for purposes including:
- providing Services;
- maintaining Account history;
- facilitating future returns;
- preventing fraud;
- resolving disputes;
- complying with legal obligations;
- maintaining business records.
LostAndFound.com does not guarantee indefinite storage.
Information may be:
- deleted;
- archived;
- anonymized;
- modified;
- removed;
according to operational, technical, legal, or security requirements.
LostAndFound.com is not responsible for:
- accidental deletion;
- service interruptions;
- loss of historical information;
- inability to access information;
- backup limitations.
SECTION 32 — SECURITY

Users are responsible for maintaining Account security.

- shipping providers;
- software integrations;
- business partners.
Third-party services operate independently.

- third-party services.
Your use of third-party services may be governed by separate agreements.
SECTION 34 — PROHIBITED USES
You may not use the Services:
- for unlawful purposes;
- to submit fraudulent information;

- to bypass security;
- to access unauthorized information;
- to harvest personal information improperly;
- to send spam;
- to upload malicious code;
- to interfere with Services;

LostAndFound.com may investigate violations and take appropriate action.
SECTION 35 — USER RESPONSIBILITY AND SAFETY
LostAndFound.com is designed to facilitate communication and coordination regarding lost property.
Interactions between Users involve risks.
Users are responsible for exercising reasonable judgment and safety precautions.
Users acknowledge:
- individuals may misrepresent themselves;
- ownership disputes may occur;
- fraudulent claims may occur;
- inaccurate information may be provided.
LostAndFound.com recommends:
- meeting in safe public locations;
- using police departments or staffed Venue locations when appropriate;
- avoiding sending money to unknown individuals;
- avoiding unnecessary disclosure of personal information.
LostAndFound.com is not responsible for:
- injuries;
- fraud;
- theft;
- disputes;
- unlawful conduct;
- actions of Users or third parties.
SECTION 36 — INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS
The LostAndFound.com Services, including but not limited to:
- websites;
- mobile applications;
- software;
- databases;
- source code;
- object code;
- workflows;
- technology systems;
- graphics;
- designs;
- text;
- logos;
- trademarks;
- service marks;
- features;
- documentation;
- proprietary processes;
are owned by or licensed to Consumer Product Recovery and Finance Company, Inc. and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Except as expressly permitted by LostAndFound.com, you may not:
- copy;
- reproduce;
- modify;
- distribute;
- sell;
- license;
- lease;
- reverse engineer;
- decompile;
- create derivative works;
- extract data;
- exploit;
any portion of the Services.
Nothing in this Agreement grants you ownership rights in the LostAndFound.com Platform or any LostAndFound.com intellectual property.
SECTION 37 — LOSTANDFOUND.COM TRADEMARKS
LostAndFound.com, the LostAndFound.com name, logos, branding, service marks, and related identifiers are owned by Consumer Product Recovery and Finance Company, Inc.
You may not use LostAndFound.com trademarks:
- in connection with unauthorized products or services;
- in a manner suggesting endorsement or sponsorship;
- in a manner likely to cause confusion;
- without prior written permission.
Any permitted use of LostAndFound.com branding must comply with applicable brand guidelines and written authorization.
SECTION 38 — LICENSE TO USE SUBMITTED CONTENT
Users retain ownership of Content submitted through the Services.
However, by submitting Content, including:
- photographs;
- descriptions;
- Listings;
- messages;
- documents;
- feedback;
- reports;
- other information;
you grant LostAndFound.com a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, store, reproduce, process, display, transmit, modify, and distribute such Content solely as necessary to:
- provide the Services;
- operate the Platform;
- facilitate searches;
- facilitate returns;
- communicate with Users;
- improve Services;
- maintain security;
- prevent fraud;
- create backups;
- comply with legal obligations.
This license continues for as long as reasonably necessary for LostAndFound.com to operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Services.
You represent and warrant that:
- you own the Content;
- you have permission to submit the Content;
- your submission does not violate another person's rights.
SECTION 39 — MODIFICATIONS TO SERVICES AND FEATURES
LostAndFound.com continually develops and improves its Services.
LostAndFound.com reserves the right to:
- add features;
- remove features;
- modify workflows;
- change subscription offerings;
- change pricing;
- update technology;
- discontinue portions of the Services.
LostAndFound.com may make changes at any time when reasonably necessary for:
- operational reasons;
- security;
- legal compliance;
- business decisions;
- technology improvements.
LostAndFound.com does not guarantee that any particular feature, integration, or Service will remain available indefinitely.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, LostAndFound.com shall not be liable for modifications, interruptions, suspension, or discontinuation of Services.
SECTION 40 — ACCOUNT SUSPENSION AND TERMINATION
LostAndFound.com may suspend, restrict, disable, or terminate access to the Services if:
- you violate this Agreement;
- you violate applicable law;
- you provide false or misleading information;
- you engage in fraudulent activity;
- you misuse the Services;
- you threaten Platform security;
- your actions create legal or financial risk;
- termination is required for operational or security reasons.
LostAndFound.com may remove or restrict access to:
- Accounts;
- Listings;
- Content;
- stored information;
- features.
Termination does not eliminate obligations that arose before termination, including:
- payment obligations;
- indemnification obligations;
- limitations of liability;
- dispute resolution provisions.
SECTION 41 — INDEMNIFICATION
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Consumer Product Recovery and Finance Company, Inc., doing business as LostAndFound.com, including its:
- officers;
- directors;
- employees;
- contractors;
- affiliates;
- partners;
- representatives;
from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from:
- your use of the Services;
- your Content;
- your Listings;
- your communications;
- your violation of this Agreement;
- your violation of another person's rights;
- your violation of applicable law;
- disputes involving property you submit, claim, possess, transfer, or return.
This obligation applies to claims involving:
- Users;
- Venues;
- Employees;
- CSRs;
- third parties;
- government entities.
SECTION 42 — DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES
THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LOSTANDFOUND.COM DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING:
- MERCHANTABILITY;
- FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE;
- NON-INFRINGEMENT;
- ACCURACY;
- RELIABILITY;
- AVAILABILITY;
- SECURITY.
LostAndFound.com does not warrant that:
- Services will be uninterrupted;
- Services will be error-free;
- Listings will be accurate;
- matches will occur;
- lost property will be located;
- property will be returned;
- Users will act honestly;
- Venues will properly handle property;
- identity verification will prevent fraud.
LostAndFound.com does not guarantee any particular result from use of the Services.
SECTION 43 — LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LOSTANDFOUND.COM SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:
- lost property;
- damaged property;
- stolen property;
- failed returns;
- incorrect returns;
- fraudulent claims;
- User conduct;
- Venue errors;
- Employee errors;
- CSR errors;
- identity verification failures;
- third-party provider failures;
- data loss;
- business interruption;
- lost profits;
- indirect damages;
- consequential damages;
- incidental damages.
LostAndFound.com is not:
- an insurer;
- a bonding company;
- a surety;
- a warehouse;
- a storage provider;
- a custodian of property.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, LostAndFound.com's total liability arising from use of the Services shall not exceed the greater of:
- the amount paid by you to LostAndFound.com during the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim; or
- one hundred dollars ($100).
Some jurisdictions do not permit certain limitations, and those limitations may not apply.
SECTION 44 — ARBITRATION
Except where prohibited by applicable law, any dispute, claim, or controversy arising from or relating to:
- this Agreement;
- the Services;
- your relationship with LostAndFound.com;
shall be resolved through binding arbitration rather than through court proceedings.
The arbitration shall be conducted on an individual basis only.
You and LostAndFound.com agree:
- no class action arbitration is permitted;
- no representative action is permitted;
- disputes may not be consolidated with other arbitrations.
The arbitration shall occur in Travis County, Texas unless otherwise required by applicable law.
The arbitrator may award individual remedies available in court but may not award remedies affecting other persons.
Nothing prevents LostAndFound.com from seeking:
- injunctive relief;
- protection of intellectual property;
- enforcement of account restrictions;
- collection of unpaid fees;
- recovery of damages caused by misuse of the Services.
You understand that arbitration limits your ability to have disputes decided by a judge or jury where permitted by law.
SECTION 45 — GOVERNING LAW
This Agreement and any dispute arising from use of the Services shall be governed by the laws of the State of Texas without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
The Services are operated by:
Consumer Product Recovery and Finance Company, Inc.
d.b.a. LostAndFound.com
from the State of Texas, United States.
Texas law shall apply to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
SECTION 46 — VENUE FOR LEGAL ACTIONS
Except for matters subject to arbitration, any legal action relating to:
- this Agreement;
- the Services;
- your relationship with LostAndFound.com;
shall be brought exclusively in courts located in Travis County, Texas unless applicable law requires otherwise.
You consent to:
- personal jurisdiction;
- venue;
- service of process;
in those courts.
SECTION 47 — VENUE CUSTOMER AGREEMENT AND BUSINESS USE
When a business, organization, institution, government agency, transportation provider, property manager, event organizer, or other entity ("Venue") uses LostAndFound.com Services, the Venue acknowledges responsibility for:
- its use of the Services;
- its authorized Users;
- its lost and found operations;
- its property handling procedures.
A Venue is responsible for:
- accuracy of information entered;
- management of inventory records;
- custody and storage of property;
- employee actions;
- CSR actions;
- Administrator actions;
- maintaining access controls;
- compliance with applicable laws.
LostAndFound.com provides technology tools only.
LostAndFound.com does not:
- take possession of Venue property;
- store Venue property;
- supervise Venue personnel;
- control Venue procedures;
- determine property ownership;
- determine whether property should be released.
SECTION 48 — PROPERTY CUSTODY AND BAILMENT DISCLAIMER
LostAndFound.com is a technology platform and communication service.
LostAndFound.com does not accept custody, possession, ownership, or control of property unless expressly agreed through a separate written agreement.
LostAndFound.com is not:
- a bailee;
- warehouse;
- storage facility;
- shipping company;
- delivery provider;
- insurance company;
- security company.
Users and Venues remain solely responsible for:
- possession;
- storage;
- handling;
- transportation;
- security;
- disposition;
of property.
LostAndFound.com is not responsible for:
- loss of property;
- damage;
- improper storage;
- incorrect labeling;
- incorrect records;
- unauthorized release;
- disposal decisions;
- chain-of-custody failures.
SECTION 49 — CLAIMS, OWNERSHIP, AND RETURN PROCESS DISCLAIMER
LostAndFound.com provides tools designed to facilitate communication and potential returns.
LostAndFound.com does not determine:
- legal ownership;
- lawful possession;
- authenticity of claims;
- entitlement to property.
Users, claimants, finders, and Venues remain responsible for determining:
- ownership;
- possession rights;
- whether documentation is sufficient;
- whether property should be released.
Verification tools, Reputation indicators, and communication records are intended to reduce risk but do not guarantee:
- ownership;
- honesty;
- lawful conduct;
- successful recovery;
- successful return.
SECTION 50 — Identity Verification and Third-Party Verification Providers
LostAndFound.com may provide identity verification features through third-party providers, including Plaid Inc. ("Plaid") and other identity verification providers.
When a User initiates identity verification, information may be collected directly by the applicable verification provider. Depending on the verification service, this may include:
- name;
- address;
- date of birth;
- contact information;
- government-issued identification information;
- images of identification documents;
- photographs or video;
- liveness detection information;
- device and technical information;
- fraud prevention information.
LostAndFound.com integrates with these providers to facilitate verification and may receive information necessary to administer the Services, including:
- verification status;
- verification results;
- confirmation that verification was completed;
- risk or fraud indicators;
- limited verification-related information.
Unless expressly disclosed for a specific Service, LostAndFound.com generally does not receive, store, or maintain copies of:
- government-issued identification documents;
- driver's license images;
- passport images;
- selfie images;
- facial geometry information;
- biometric templates.
Third-party verification providers maintain their own privacy policies, security procedures, and retention practices.
LostAndFound.com does not control and is not responsible for:
- information collected directly by verification providers;
- provider security practices;
- provider retention periods;
- provider verification decisions;
- provider errors or failures.
Identity verification assists with trust and fraud prevention but does not establish ownership of property or guarantee a User's honesty, intentions, or conduct.
SECTION 51 — REPUTATION SYSTEM AND TRUST INDICATORS
LostAndFound.com may provide reputation indicators, verification badges, trust indicators, feedback features, or similar tools designed to provide Users with limited information regarding certain verification activities or account history.
The Reputation System is provided solely for informational purposes.
The Reputation System is not intended to:
- determine ownership of property;
- establish legal rights;
- guarantee identity;
- guarantee honesty;
- guarantee trustworthiness;
- certify a User;
- endorse a User;
- guarantee successful return of property.
Reputation indicators may include, but are not limited to:
Red Status
A User who has not completed available verification steps or has limited account verification information.
Yellow Status
A User who has verified certain contact information, such as:
- email address;
- telephone number;
- other communication methods.
Yellow verification only indicates access to the verified communication method.
Green Status
A User who has completed identity verification through an approved third-party identity verification provider used by LostAndFound.com.
Gold Status
A User who has achieved Green status and has also received qualifying positive feedback or reputation activity through the LostAndFound.com Platform.
LostAndFound.com may modify, expand, rename, suspend, remove, replace, or discontinue any Reputation System feature at any time.
A Reputation indicator does not guarantee:
- that a User is the owner of property;
- that a User is acting honestly;
- that a User will perform a promised action;
- that information provided by a User is accurate;
- that a transaction will be completed successfully;
- that property will be returned.
Users remain responsible for exercising independent judgment and reasonable caution.
LostAndFound.com does not independently investigate:
- User intentions;
- ownership claims;
- personal history;
- future conduct;
- transactions between Users.
LostAndFound.com is not responsible for:
- reliance on Reputation indicators;
- inaccurate Reputation information;
- fraudulent activity by Users;
- disputes between Users;
- losses arising from User interactions;
- third-party verification failures.
The Reputation System is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis.
SECTION 52 — REWARDS PROGRAM TERMS AND DISCLAIMER
LostAndFound.com may provide features allowing Users to offer rewards for the return of lost property.
Any reward offered through the Services is offered solely by the person or entity providing the reward ("Reward Provider").
LostAndFound.com is not:
- the provider of rewards;
- a guarantor of payment;
- an insurer;
- a financial institution;
- responsible for determining whether reward requirements have been satisfied.
The Reward Provider is solely responsible for:
- establishing reward terms;
- providing accurate reward information;
- maintaining sufficient funds;
- paying valid rewards;
- complying with applicable laws.
LostAndFound.com may provide administrative tools to assist with reward-related processes, including:
- reward notices;
- communication;
- verification;
- payment coordination.
However, LostAndFound.com does not guarantee:
- that a reward will be offered;
- that a reward will be paid;
- that a finder qualifies;
- that reward conditions have been satisfied;
- that disputes regarding rewards will be resolved.
For certain reward amounts, LostAndFound.com may require additional verification procedures, including identity verification of the Reward Provider or recipient.
Any dispute regarding a reward is solely between the parties involved.
SECTION 53 — AUTOMATED FEATURES, ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE, AND MACHINE LEARNING
LostAndFound.com may use artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer vision, automated processing, algorithms, predictive technologies, and other automated systems ("AI Features") to improve and operate the Services.
AI Features may assist with:
- identifying item categories;
- analyzing photographs;
- generating descriptions;
- improving searches;
- suggesting potential matches;
- recommending actions;
- detecting suspicious activity;
- assisting customer support;
- improving operational efficiency;
- developing future Services.
LostAndFound.com may introduce additional AI Features and automated capabilities in the future.
Users acknowledge and agree that:
- AI Features are tools intended to assist Users;
- AI-generated results may contain errors;
- AI-generated information may be incomplete or inaccurate;
- Users remain responsible for reviewing information before relying upon it;
- AI Features do not determine ownership;
- AI Features do not establish legal rights;
- AI Features do not replace human decision-making.
LostAndFound.com does not guarantee:
- accuracy of AI-generated content;
- accuracy of image recognition;
- accuracy of suggested matches;
- prevention of fraudulent activity;
- successful recovery of property.
LostAndFound.com may modify, improve, restrict, replace, or discontinue AI Features at any time.
SECTION 54 — ENTIRE AGREEMENT
This User Agreement, together with:
- the LostAndFound.com Privacy Policy;
- subscription terms;
- service-specific terms;
- fee disclosures;
- purchase confirmations;
- additional agreements presented during use of specific Services;
constitutes the entire agreement between you and LostAndFound.com regarding use of the Services.
This Agreement supersedes all prior:
- agreements;
- communications;
- representations;
- discussions;
- understandings;
relating to the Services.
You acknowledge that you have not relied upon any statement or representation not expressly included in this Agreement.
SECTION 55 — SEVERABILITY
If any provision of this User Agreement is determined to be:
- invalid;
- unlawful;
- unenforceable;
that provision shall be modified only to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable.
If modification is not possible, the provision shall be removed.
The remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
The parties intend that this Agreement be interpreted to preserve its original purpose to the maximum extent permitted by law.
